This event was held this year at the Ship Hotel in New Romney and was attended by a total of 36 members and guests. A great time was had by all and thanks must go to the management of the Ship for the most excellent food and friendly and efficient service. A tidy sum was made for charity on the raffle with its seemingly never ending stream of prizes.
Mr Paulie Gould (hope I’ve got his name right) gave us a most interesting and lively talk on this subject and brought with her a vast array of beautiful items that she came back from Japan with. The information given us on the interesting and sometimes comical ways of the Japanese will hopefully stand us in good stead should any of us go there on business or pleasure! One of our members, Spencer Laycock, was also in Japan for a time and contributed to the discussion.
